As the biobased and biomanufacturing industries move toward large-scale commercialization, which standout products, technologies, solutions, and companies are leading the way? The 2026 (4th) DT New Leaf Award innovation competition has officially launched, helping to identify and showcase outstanding cases in the biobased sector and honor them with industry recognition. Currently, over 40 organizations have submitted more than 60 cutting-edge products for consideration. The award features four categories: Innovative Material Award, Innovative Application Award, Most Commercially Valuable Award, and Innovative Industry Solution Award. The final winners will be announced at #The 11th Biobased Congress (May 21, Shanghai).

Sustainable transformation in the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers (CASE) sector has become an undeniable trend. This forum will invite leading biobased solution providers, downstream developers, and end-use brands to explore critical topics such as biobased CASE product development, performance characteristics, application suitability, and downstream industry demands.

Forum 3: The 6th HMF-FDCA-PEF Industry Forum

Focusing on key topics including the scale-up of the popular material PEF; collaborative validation with downstream customers in areas such as packaging materials and textiles; and upstream HMF and FDCA processes, costs, challenges, and solutions. The forum will invite leading upstream and downstream companies, renowned experts, and leaders from application fields such as packaging/textiles/CASE to explore critical themes: 1. Forum 5: The 5th Bio-based Materials Forum for Sports Footwear and Apparel

Co-organized by: State Key Laboratory of Bio-Based Fiber Materials 

The forum will invite leading biobased fiber and textile solution providers, industry experts and research teams, global yarn and textile leaders, and sports shoe and apparel brands to explore critical topics related to the development, characteristics and suitability, scaling up, downstream demand, and market progress of biobased materials for sports shoes and apparel, with the goal of promoting cooperation and partnership across the upstream and downstream industry chain.

Forum 6: The 3rd Bio-based Materials Forum for Automotive Applications

Vehicle and auto parts enterprises, as well as bio-based new material development and solution providers, will be invited to jointly explore key topics such as bio-based structural parts, automotive fabrics, leather, cushions and other automotive bio-based materials, their adaptation, and cooperation with downstream brands.

Forum 7: Application Forum on Bio-based Logistics Pallets

Focusing on the development and application of non-grain raw materials such as bamboo-based materials in logistics pallets, it will invite logistics pallet enterprises, large-scale logistics and transportation enterprises, chemical enterprises, as well as industrialization experts and teams to jointly explore key topics such as the application, performance, cost and adaptation of bio-based composite materials in logistics pallets.

To "make bio-based young scientists visible", the Young Scientists Forum will set up 80 young scientist reports, focusing on the directions of "bio-based chemicals, bio-based materials and biomass energy". 06 | Bio-based 2026 Exhibition

1000+ New Products on Display

The 11th Bio-based Exhibition is expected to display more than 1,000+ new products, with "Technology + New Products + Demand-side Connection" as the core keywords. It will focus on innovative products such as bio-based innovative materials and products (including packaging materials, footwear and apparel, 3D printing, structural parts, etc.), bio-based monomers (such as alcohols/acids/amines, etc.), non-grain biomass raw materials, modified materials, engineering process solutions (AI/process solutions/EPC/digital systems, etc.), testing and certification (degradability testing/bio-based content testing, etc.), and instrumentation (reactors/purification/pump structures, etc.).
